About Us

Mary (Anderson) Harris, Founder and Vice President
Raised on a fourth-generation farm in south-central Minnesota, Mary developed a deep appreciation for hard work, family, and growing healthy food. She later spent 29 years in banking, serving as an Assistant Vice President and lender, while raising two children with her late husband, Ed.
At age 15, Mary sensed God calling her to missions, a call she set aside for many years. Over time, through teaching, leading Bible studies, and participating in mission trips around the world, her faith deepened and that calling became clear. After her husband’s passing, she stepped out in faith. In 2012, she left her career, pursued missionary training, and in 2013 moved to Haiti.
While sharing the gospel, Mary recognized the overwhelming physical needs around her. This led to practical solutions like building fuel-efficient stoves and eventually addressing Haiti’s severe deforestation. In 2015, she launched a reforestation project in Pignon that has since resulted in over 120,000 trees planted.
In 2017, Mary began implementing Farming God’s Way, a biblically based, sustainable agriculture method. Through this, she and her team have trained thousands of farmers, helping them grow food, restore land, and build self-sufficiency.
2018, God brought her husband, Rod Harris, alongside her in ministry. Together, they share a heart for Haiti and continue to serve both in-country and from the U.S.
Today, Mary splits her time in the States and on the field in Haiti, mentoring her Haitian staff, overseeing operations, and continuing the mission to transform lives through faith, agriculture, and discipleship.
