Haitian Staff

Jhanson Fonrose, Haitian Director

Jhanson is responsible for managing all local operations when the President and Vice President are not present. His duties include taking care of the house, land, motor vehicles, solar panels, well, equipment and tools. He provides language translation, organizes and conducts training sessions in Farming God’s Way (FGW), and organizes the details for visiting teams. Jhanson supervises the daily work of the staff, works alongside them on projects and ensures they work all the hours required for the benefits received. This work includes but is not limited to: growing reforestation trees in the nursery, growing produce in the gardens, watering all plantings, loading compost materials, regenerating the soil and selling the produce. He is also a spiritual leader. Jhanson grew up in the Pignon, Haiti area and advanced well in his education. He demonstrated initiative and determination as he excelled in his English language studies and practical application on the streets. He quickly gained a good reputation as a man of good character with strong language translation skills. Since partnering with Mary Harris as a full-time translator, he has further developed into a trusted organizer and manager.

Zacharie Bien-Aime, Agronomist

Zacharie is an Agronomist. He completed his 5-year degree at Quisqueya University in Port au Prince Haiti. He is married with 5 children. He enjoys farming and dancing. Agronomist Zacharie is a talented teacher and has helped train 600 farmers in the Farming God’s Way method. His advice is “Put your hands in the dirt for a better tomorrow.” Favorite bible verses is Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my Shepherd. I lack nothing.

Bertrand Eustache, Agronomist

Bertrand is an Agronomist with a 5-year degree from Universite Polyvalente d'Haiti. Bertrand is usually smiling and carries the joy of the Lord. He is a diligent worker and likes things at high standards. He enjoys playing soccer and dancing, and even dances while working. He is a valued member of FARM Haiti's staff.
His favorite bible verse is Psalm 37:4 "Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart's desire."

Erick Valmir

Erick is a very hard worker, doing physical tasks with ease. He enjoys growing vegetables, especially cabbage and tomatoes and likes making compost. He has interests in electricity, plumbing and accounting. He has a teenage son. His advice is “Education is the key of life.”
Favorite bible verse is Phillipians 2:1-2 “Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are our hearts tender and compassionate? Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another and working together with one mind and purpose."

Kerwin St Fleur

Kerwin is our youngest employee. Even at his young age, Kerwin has a good understanding of traditional farming. He is a very hard worker and will often take the hard jobs of hoeing the weeds and digging the ground. We rely on him to make handles for our tools and he has a mechanical brain, learning how to fix things by watching others.
He also likes mechanics and his dream is to operate big equipment. He enjoys planting trees and playing checkers. Kerwin was part of Mary’s original youth group and has become a trusted and valued employee.

JeanRonald Elvema

JeanRonald is a smart young man and is president of his class in school. JeanRonald is an invaluable helper for Mary, doing whatever job she needs done. He wants to be a mechanic and work with electricity. His desire is to get a good job so he can support his mother. His advice is “Have faith in God, believe in yourself, and follow your dreams.” Favorite bible verse: Luke 4:21 Then Jesus began to speak to them. “The Scripture you’ve just heard has been fulfilled this very day.”

Yves Berlin Etienne

Berlin enjoys working in the garden/field. Berlin likes things to be clean and can often be found raking our grass lawn (a rarity in Haiti) and cleaning the house. He also grew up on a farm and knows how to work hard. Berlin is a dancer and is a member of a dance team. His dream is to finish high school and go to college to study mechanical engineering. His advice is “God to church. Respect your parents and others.”
